Retro-Type, you say? Isn’t that kind of like that one Shtmup series called “R-Type”? Why yes! You would be correct if you guessed that. I’m a big fan of R-Type and Gradius, as well as several “old school” games and genres. I suppose my passion for gaming falls there. I do play many new games as well, but I tend to enjoy the ones that feel like they are an genuine evolution of the games I grew up with in the 80’s. I’m also a huge collector of games from all types of platforms, many of which are decades old. I would say that the majority of my game collection is “Old School” or “Retro”.

Right now it’s just myself, but I’m hoping I can expand this site to include other team members to become more of a gaming community.

skyewelseSkyeWelse has made video games a healthy(?) part of his everyday balanced diet ever since he first laid googly-eyes on that 8-bit-plumber, you know, the one with the red cap and blue overalls. Ever since then, his passion has always been about video games, and especially ones that blend classic 8-bit/16-bit style elements or “Retro” elements and expand on them to make them contemporary. SkyeWelse has always had a passion for Nintendo and Sega games and their staple series, but has embraced games from all generations and systems.

There are however, certain games that catch his eye more and if they are not immediately popular enough or mainstream enough, on occasion he has taken up the task of creating some type of website or portal to help unite fans and “would-be” fans and arm them with all the information they could ever want to see in order to logically come to the conclusion that they should be playing said game, right this instant and here’s why!

Some of SkyeWelse’s past projects were related to the Genso Suikoden series, Panzer Dragoon series, Cave Story (original creator of the Cave Story Tribute Site at www.cavestory.org), Microcabin’s Xak series and more recenty, Shantae. (www.shantae.net)

SkyeWelse’s favorite games and series are: Panzer Dragoon, Shantae, Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Zelda, Ys, Brandish, Gitaroo Man, Xak, Gradius, R-Type, Xanadu and Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls. His favorite games are Genso Suikoden II and Panzer Dragoon Saga.
